Group Benefits - Eligibility

New Hire

As a new hire, enrolling in your group’s insurance plan is time-sensitive. Outside of the annual open enrollment period, you will need a qualifying event to enroll. [Company Name] probationary period for new hires is the first of the month following [xx] days of full-time employment. Please note, the insurance provider will not accept enrollment forms more than 30 days after your qualified effective date. Additionally, the enrollment process typically takes 5-7 business days after the insurance company receives your completed form.

Open Enrollment

Open Enrollment typically takes place during the month leading up to your group’s renewal. This period offers eligible team members the opportunity to switch medical plans, add dependents, or make changes to their existing coverage. Additionally, team members who previously waived coverage can choose to enroll in coverage during this time.

Qualifying Event

Qualifying life events that trigger a special enrollment period fall into four main categories: loss of health coverage, changes in household, changes in residence, and other specific circumstances. With your qualifying event, you should have received or will soon receive a proof of loss of coverage from your previous insurance carrier. Please keep this document for your records and/or submit it to our office. Your new insurance provider may require it as proof of your prior coverage.
